When you live in an area like here in the Research Triangle, it can be hard to actually know where the roofing companies that you work with are from.
Everyone claims to serve “The Raleigh area” but sometimes aren’t exactly super up front about the areas they do the most work in.
Because of this, we’ve been making lists of the highest rated and most experienced roofing companies serving each town in our area.
In today’s blog, we're going to be tackling:
Before we really dive in, I first want to say that the companies on this list are not ranked in any particular order, and that their presence on this list does not represent any personal interaction that we’ve had with them. They are on here because of their high volume and quality of reviews, and reputation within the community.
You may also be wondering why we, a roofing company that serves Morrisville, is writing about our competition in the area. Well, our mission is to become a source of roofing information for homeowners in the Triangle area, and that by sharing our knowledge and experience with you, you'll feel like you know us long before you need to reach out to us for a roofing service.
A big part of the roofing industry is of course, the companies, so we're going to talk about them! Companies can pay to be ranked highly on some of the more popular national rankings sites, so we took it upon ourselves to make lists of local roofers that you can trust are accurate and unbiased.
Alright, with that out of the way, let’s get started!
Founded in Raleigh in 1915, Baker Roofing Company has been providing commercial, industrial, and residential roofing services to the Triangle ever since. In its over 100 years of existence, Baker has expanded all over the southeast, and now has offices in Tennessee, Alabama, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida, in addition to several across the state of North Carolina.
Suretop Roofing primarily serves the areas between Raleigh and Winston-Salem, a stretch that includes towns like Greensboro, Burlington, Durham, and Morrisville. They’ve been in operation for over a decade, offering metal & shingle roofing options, as well as flat roofing solutions. The company also is in good standing with the manufacturers that they use, holding GAF Master Elite and CertainTeed ShingleMaster Certifications.
Feazel has their North Carolina office in Durham, but also has offices in multiple Ohio cities, and Indianapolis. For over thirty years, Feazel has provided roof repair & installation, as well as solar, and chimney repair services in addition to their other home exterior services.
K&D Roofing may be one of the younger companies on this list, but in their time they have certainly built up a solid reputation, earning over 90 5-star reviews on Google. The company places an emphasis on communicating with their customers, and wants to keep them informed through the whole process. K&D holds GAF Certified status.
In 2006, Roofwerks formed to provide residential, commercial, and multi-family roofing projects in Raleigh, Cary, and Morrisville. The company is certified to install Owen’s Corning and GAF asphalt shingles, and is a BBB A+ Accredited business. Roofwerks also runs a sister company, Solarwerks, that specializes skylight and sun tunnel installation and repair.
Now that you’ve got some information about the best roofing companies in Morrisville, how do you know if what the work they are estimating for you is worth your time and money?
When reviewing a roofing estimate, it's important to understand the various cost components that make up the overall price. These components include labor costs, material costs, overhead expenses, and the profit margin.
The labor costs are associated with the skill level of the workers who will be installing your new roof, the complexity of the job, and the time required to complete the project. The complexity of the roof affects labor costs because of how it affects the time needed to complete the work, and the skill level of the workers will greatly affect costs, as workers who have been roofing for decades have the ability to charge more for their labor than those who just got in the game.
Meanwhile, material costs will depend on the quality and brand of the materials used, and overhead expenses refer to the costs of running the roofing company, such as insurance, rent, and office supplies.
Finally, the profit margin is the amount of money the roofing company intends to make on the project, and this varies depending on the company's overhead expenses and the competition in the market. Some estimates may also include additional costs, such as permit fees or disposal costs for old roofing materials.
In most roofing estimates that you’ll see, the labor and overhead costs will be automatically factored into the line-item materials list, so the amount that you see after all of that is added up should still be the amount that you pay, and there should not be any costs labeled as labor and overhead heaped on top at the end of the project.
